(A set of 4 photos) The George W. Beveridge House is unique among homes in Elizabeth City. It is a 1 1/2-story bungalow with wood shingled sides. Situated entirely over the Pasquotank River and supported by brick piers, the home, 30 feet from shore, is reached by an uncovered walkway (a bridge?) with wooden hand railings. It has an engaged porch (the porch floor is a continuation of the main structure rather than being a projecting porch, which is attached) which uses brick piers for the roof supports. The porch is a wraparound. A dormer is positioned on the roof of the front facade; the panes are a little unique. The only way to do this home visual justice is to photograph it from the water.

The home is included in the Riverside Historic District of Elizabeth City, Pasquotank County, North Carolina. The historic district was added to the National Register March 11, 1994 with reference ID 9400016. The nomination form is available at files.nc.gov/ncdcr/nr/PK0832.pdf
