Lonely in Keeler

This is an image from 2010 which I finally got around to processing, just in time for Valentine's day. I was in Keeler hoping to catch the moonset over the Sierra mountains when the sunrise lit up these lenticular clouds in a spectacular way, creating what is know as a "Sierra wave". I had to tone down the red glow as it was intense, turning everything pink, but no one would have believed it. This image has been published on 1X.com, where the most common feeling the curators felt was "loneliness". Nobody wants to be lonely on Valentines day, but I guess this image reminds us that some are lonely, especially if you live in Keeler, which is all but dead these days. Keeler was established as the erminus of a railroad that once stretched up the Owens valley, and like hauled ore take from the nearby Cerro Gordo mines.
