The Festive Oozlum Bird

            Looking slightly lost within the abundant arboretum that surrounds Mantle Lane in Coalville on 8th December 2018, UK Railtours 'The Festive Oozlum Bird' is probably living up to its name. For anyone unaware of the 'oozlum birds' qualities, and indeed characteristics, it is a mythical creature said to fly around around in ever decreasing circles prior to disappearing up its own backside. It is also suggested that prior to the final act, it has not the faintest idea where it is. The reference to the said 'oozlum bird' in the name of UK Railtours 1Z82, 0745 London Victoria  - Stafford, is no doubt due to the very circuitous route and not a reference to Stafford. After leaving Victoria it worked up the Midland Mainline, prior to heading through Castle Donington to Burton upon Trent, where it took the freight-only Coalville Line to Knighton Junction. It then took the Nuneaton Line at Wigston North Junction, followed the a run along the Trent Valley Line to Stafford. The return from Stafford was via Walsall and the Sutton Park Line.
