Paul III, âgé de plus de 75 ans, est immortalisé par TITIEN (Tiziano Vecellio dit Le TITIEN 1488/1490-1576), tête nue en signe d'humilité, dans un magnifique camaïeu de rouge et de blanc qui chatoie dans la lumière. Sa main droite porte l'anneau pontifical et est posé sur une bourse, rappelant le devoir de charité mais aussi son pouvoir pour l'attribution des bénéfices ecclésiastiques.

Paul III, aged over 75, is immortalised by TITIAN (Tiziano Vecellio known as Le TITIEN 1488/1490-1576), bareheaded as a sign of humility, in a magnificent cameo of red and white that shimmers in the light. His right hand is wearing the pontifical ring and is resting on a purse, a reminder of the duty of charity but also of his power to grant ecclesiastical benefits.
