SET 2 – Oxford Kroger, 2020 Remodel/Expansion

Here’s a closer look at the erstwhile lunch meats area, still clad in its millennium décor but missing all of its merchandise – and, indeed, its shelving, to boot. Here’s a pretty good comparison shot from prior to the remodel; with all the cases removed, black tarps were put up in their place, as I’m sure the walls behind the cases were not presentable to the same standard as the stuff we see up above. I’m assuming they were at least partially open to the stockroom so that all the wires and hookups had a place to run to; look along the floorline beneath the tarp, and you can see at least a few openings in the plywood, perhaps supporting that theory. Also, while we’re on the topic of the floorline – notice that the old millennium tile floor has started to be removed down there, too.
