"Mixed" Couple of Plateumaris sericeus

            Plateumaris sericea is a leaf beetle (Chrysomelidae family) and has a size of 7 - 8 mm. The species occurs almost throughout Europe and as far east as Japan. The coloration varies considerably. There are green, reddish, violet, blue and even black specimen. The beetles can be found near standing or slow flowing water and on wet meadows. They fly from April to July.
