VI was Canon's flagship 35mm film rangefinder camera between 1958 and 1961. Without the ugly selenium meter on its successor Canon 7, Canon VI (along with V and P) is arguably the best looking rangefinder ever made. The build quality is also among Canon's best, with thick chrome plated brass build that withstands 60+ years of aging. The innovative switchable viewfinder offers three image options: the main one marked as "50" with 1:1 parallax corrected 50mm & 100mm frame lines, a secondary marked as "35" for 35mm without parallax correction nor frame line, and the third marked as "Mg" for magnification of the rangefinder patch area for fine focusing adjustment. The lever advance is smooth and the shutter sound is whisper quite yet extremely solid and satisfying.
