Last Light at Hamilton Creek

            A winter sunset over the mostly frozen waters of Percy Priest Lake, at the Hamilton Creek shore on the outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee.  People had thrown rocks out on the ice at some point, but they had long since moved on, leaving just the rocks, myself, and a great blue heron looking around for a place to fish. It was silent and peaceful as we watched the last light fade along the horizon, accompanied only by the occasional sound of lapping water and a cold wind through the trees.

12mm (24mm full frame FOV), ISO 200, f/8, 1/6 sec., Hoya circular polarizer, single RAW file (not HDR), tripod mounted.
