            Weidebeekjuffers komen vrij algemeen voor langs stromend water van redelijke kwaliteit. In het westen van Nederland zijn ze wel veel schaarser, maar sinds kort komen ze wel voor in de Biesbosch. Recent zijn ze op steeds meer plekken gezien in het westen, ook in Noord-Holland. Dankzij de verbetering van de waterkwaliteit in waterlopen. Het gaat dus goed met deze soort die vooral opvalt door haar vlinderachtige vlucht in de buurt van beken. Ze hebben zuurstofrijk water nodig om zich goed te kunnen voortplanten. De meeste kans maak je langs beken waar het water goed stroomt. Zoek ze daar vooral op plekken waar de zon lekker op het water en de vegetatie schijnt.

The banded demoiselles are quite common along flowing water of reasonable quality. They are much scarcer in the west of the Netherlands, but recently they have appeared in the Biesbosch. Recently they have been seen in more and more places in the west, including in North Holland. Thanks to the improvement of water quality in waterways. So things are going well for this species, which is particularly notable for its butterfly-like flight near streams. They need oxygen-rich water to reproduce properly. You have the best chance along streams where the water flows well. Look for them especially in places where the sun shines on the water and vegetation.
