Worth a spot of charity? - a photo on Flickriver

            The rear elevation of Middleport Pottery where it sits beside the Trent and Mersey canal in Middleport, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.
The business which was formerly Burgess and Leigh and now Burgess, Dorling and Leigh had this factory built on the site of a former pottery works in 1889, and it remains, today, the only surviving intact Victorian potbank in Stoke-on-Trent.
Recently the pottery has received funding from The Prince's Regeneration Trust, with assistance from the Heritage Lottery Fund and European Regional Development Fund.
The building has grade II* listed status, and produces Burleigh Ware ceramics.
The building to the rear right is the old Anderton and Company premises, which went on to be The Anderton and Mersey Weavers, who transported goods (especially associated with the pottery industry) up and down the canal network.
