Orange Hibiscus With Drops

This flower came from the garden this morning just after it had been watered. Flowers make good subjects, in that they're infinitely patient, they don't whine, they're small and easy to move around, plus they work cheap. Did I mention that they stay still, which is important if you've ever tried to photograph a dog or cat. I could go on, but you get the point.

Lighting info: I back lit this with a Strobie 130 in a Rogue snoot behind the flower, and a little to the right. I positioned a YN560 in a 24 inch soft box camera left at 9 o'clock to throw some light on the interior of the flowers, and then I used a hand mirror to bounce a little reflected light from the right side. I started with just the back light, and when that looked the the way I wanted, I added the soft box and last of all the mirror. Season to taste, as they say on the cooking shows. The strobes in manual mode were triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.
