Seagull at sunrise, Penmon Point and Lighthouse, Ynys Môn, North Wales

These birds (I believe it is a Jonathan Liivingstone seagull) are seriously strong as this was shot on a bitterly cold January morning with winds blowing non-stop  around 35-40km/h. I was there to shoot the lighthouse at sunrise which turned out to be a no show so tried my hand at shooting the gulls as they flew around. I was nearly blown off my feet on several occasions had to return to the car a couple of times just to warm my hands as they were frozen with the wind chill (forgot to bring gloves duh!). The birds struggled at times but I was impressed by how they could manage to fly in those conditions. My in-depth, no knowledge at all expert opinion is that their strength can be attributed to their diet of chips stolen from unsuspecting tourists 😄
