the joy of letting your mind be boggled

            The thrill never wears off watching these gigantic artists as they plunge head first into the water to gather a throat pouch full of fish!  I could watch them for hours.  As a matter of fact, I did!

There is something about the lines and shapes of a pelican, their grace and proportions, that just makes me happy when I look at them!

The brown pelicans only visit here in the summer, coming from California and following swarms of fish, I assume.  But it seems to me that they have been coming earlier and staying longer in the last few years.

I always enjoy their presence tremendously!
