This 9 foot high fiberglass figure skater statue was built in the late 1950s or early 1960s for the Ice Capades’ Hollywood office. The statue is believed to have been modeled after the late Donna Atwood, a figure skating champion and Ice Capades star in the 1940s and 1950s. The statue has been at the Culver Ice Arena since the early 1980s. The Ice Arena opened in 1962.

It was an very overcast day with no obvious shadows.

To prevent image blur due to vibration the 300mm lens and teleconverter it was supported with a Hejnar Rail.
