Basstölpel beim schnäbeln (Morus bassanus)

            Mit seinem rahmfarbenem Kopf, den schwarzen Flügelspitzen und dem sonst weißen Gefieder ist er unverwechselbar. Er hat sich erst 1991 auf Helgoland als Brutvogel angesiedelt, inzwischen brüten über 1000 Paare im Lummenfelsen und auf der Langen Anna. Sie sind von März bis September am Lummenfelsen anzutreffen, die letzten Jungvögel verlassen die Klippen Anfang bis Mitte Oktober.
