Forage Harvesting 30th June 2019 (22)

            In between searching for wildlife on Sunday I took time out a couple of times to photograph a Claas Jaguar feeding forage to Tom Roberts John Deere and a Massey Ferguson. They were working on Roberts's land which runs parallel with our own yard. This was their second crop of what has been a good growing season so far but wet weather has meant that a lot of farms have only recently got their first crop in. Across the Colne Valley Tony Garside was making round bales so I took a few shots with my 600mm lens. I used a mix of lens including the 600mm and ended up with a few tight-and cropped-shots as I struggled to fit the whole combination in the frame even when they were a couple of hundred yards away at the bottom of the fields. Slaithwaite and its twin rail viaducts makes a nice backdrop. The light was dull and flat until the end of the afternoon when the sun finally shone through.
