"On Second Thought" (Short-Eared Owl and Opossum)

            New York...
This opossum caught the eye of a hunting owl, which swooped in for a closer look.  The owl quickly realized this was no vole; the opossum was easily the size of the owl and certainly much heavier.  After landing nearby to stare quizzically at this unfamiliar marsupial for a few seconds, the owl resumed its regular hunting routine.  Kind of a muddy shot, but I like the moment captured.
