A Wide Open Expanse To Take In (Saguaro National Park)

            A look to the north while driving along the Cactus Forest Drive in the Saguaro National Park. Scattered about and sticking above the desert plant-life is the tall, tree-like saguaro cactus and off in the distance are the peaks of the Santa Catalina Mountains. One of the many things that struck me about this desert landscape was just how lush and green the plant life truly was! Compared to the desert in Death Valley National Park, this was almost like a forest of low trees and cacti.

For the image itself, I also liked how the rugged peaks off in the distance were that right complement to the nearby desert landscape. Nearby are greens and yellows; far off are blues, browns and shades of purple.
