Gleichenia dicarpa- Pouched coral fern

            Happy New Year everyone! A computer crash put me offline for a while.  I am now up and running again on a new computer. We also had 2 wonderful weeks in Tasmania and I will post a few photos from there :  Gleichenia dicarpa is a small fern of the family Gleicheniaceae found in eastern Australia, New Caledonia and New Zealand. It forms tangled thickets in wet places and is widespread in Tasmania, where it is found up to altitudes of 900 m (3000 ft). It can grow in nutrient poor conditions, preferring high humidity and good levels of sunshine. The fronds have several to many dichotomous splits. This tiny heart at the growing tip caught my eye.
