When you go to a family get-together, as we did on Christmas Eve, keep your ears open. The other day I learned that, when she was a kid, my own mother, she of "Michael, be careful!" fame, became experienced enough at riding the roller coaster at a Chicago amusement park that she and her pal learned to stand up during the ride!
