            On a grey spring morning 25036 leads 25067 as they depart Bedford and cross onto the Down Main with The Yorkshire Rover, a St Pancras to York DEG railtour, 22nd April 1978.

25036 was originally D5186 and was built at Derby Works entering traffic in March 1963, allocated to Toton.MPD. It would have spells at Leicester, Cricklewood, Willesden, Springs Branch, Kingmoor and Bescot in its nineteen year career. It also was allocated to Laira for a couple of weeks in May 1978 but it is doubtful it ever made the journey. In September 1982 it arrived at Derby Works for an unclassified repair. At the end of December 1982 this repair was cancelled and 25036 was withdrawn, and surrendering one of its cabs to repair collision damaged 25035. It remained at Derby Works until the 5th February 1985 when it moved to Swindon Works, being broken up there by the first week of June 1985. 25067 was also built at Derby Works entering traffic in August 1963 and like 25036 was withdrawn in December 1982.
