Moonlit Beach by the Coral Sea - a photo on Flickriver

This was taken on the NE coast of Australia between the towns of Port Douglas and Cairns. The moon was behind me lighting up the landscape. There are some interesting things to remark on. With a long exposure you can almost make it look like daytime photo, since moonlight is simply sunlight reflected off the moon. One difference is the shadows. The shadows are really deep and dark. Not much light is reflected into the shadowy areas. Another difference is the color of the sky. With the moonlight present it becomes very blue, and takes on shades of blue that are more like daylight. This is a panorama of multiple vertical photos panning horizontally, taken with a Canon 6D camera, and a Canon 16-35 mm lens at 16 mm, f 4, 25 sec., and ISO 6400.
