Crack in the ground - a photo on Flickriver

Very early in the morning when there are not so many people around. 

Actually, my very early morning activity in this place came to an abrupt stop, when I discovered I had hardly any petrol left to get me back down the mountain to the nearest petrol station which is 20 km away. For some reason I thought I'd seen one in Castelluccio the last time I was here.
I only just made it into Visso, then back up the mountain only to discover the place packed out with photographers and the light I wanted had long gone.
