            Obelisk (one of a pair), c. 1425 B.C.E. (originally sited at the Temple of the Sun, Heliopolis, Egypt), granite from Aswan, erected to mark 30 years of the reign of Thutmose III (toppled by the Persians 525 B.C.E., re-erected in Alexandria by Augustus, crabs added to stabilize), 69 feet high (roughly 200 tons), given as a gift by the Khedive Ismail Pasha in 1879, set up in 1881 (Greywacke Knoll, Central Park, New York)
