A barge that is tied up on the banks of the "Old Danube". The "Old Danube" is an old water arch that was created in 1851 when a river bend was cut through in the course of the Danube straightening programme. However, a connection with the Danube to the east leads to annual flooding. The Old Danube is crossed by the Wiesent and is part of the Gmünder Au nature reserve. This nature reserve contains extensively used meadows, ponds with siltation zones and wooded areas of the softwood floodplain. It is a resting, breeding and wintering area for rare bird species.

Ein Kahn, der am Ufer der „Alten Donau“ festgemacht ist. Die „Alte Donau“ ist ein Altwasserbogen der 1851 entstand, als im Zuge der Donaubegradigung eine Flussschleife durchstochen wurde. Eine Verbindung mit der Donau im Osten führt allerdings zu jährlichen Überschwemmungen. Die Alte Donau wird von der Wiesent durchflossen und gehört zum Naturschutzgebiet Gmünder Au. Dieses Naturschutzgebiet enthält extensiv genutzte Wiesen, Tümpel mit Verlandungszonen und Gehölzbestände der Weichholzaue. Es ist Rast-, Brut- und Überwinterungsgebiet seltener Vogelarten.
