On a remote road in Etosha National Park we passed a zebra that had probably just died naturally - this was announced by the circling vultures that had just arrived. The number of vultures increased steadily and in the end there were probably around 50.

At first there were only White-backed Vultures - over time a few more Lappet-faced Vultures arrived - which are significantly larger and repeatedly compensated for their outnumbered number with their strength and got their share - until a much more powerful and fearsome guest appeared on four paws... 😱
