This enormous driftwood log (well, a whole tree, really) washed ashore in La Push in 2010. It's now pretty much permanently embedded in the sand.

First Beach, La Push, Washington

In August 2014, I went to conference in Seattle and was able to add on a few days each on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington and the Columbia River Gorge near Portland to take pictures. The rest of my pictures from these two short trips can be found in my Washingont/Oregon album
