At this point the Li River was really wide

            The 83 km Li River flows through karst mountains from Guilin all the way to Yangshuo. And along it's snaking 83km course. the river narrows in parts but in some places is really wide, like here. Here the karst mountains appear so distant. The guide kept announcing names of many of the rock formations, some downright amusing, but the constant hum from the boat's engines and the sound of the large boat cutting through water meant that much of the soft, female commentary was drowned. But the frail girl who was giving the commentary appeared quite knowledgeable about the area and was doing a pretty good job of the commentary.
