47675 920826 Perth 1130 Edin-Inver Brighten

            For a few years in the 1990's the intercity Sector created a 47/6 sub class which were essentially 47/4 with enhanced ETH capability to handle the Scottish sleeper traffic. In these days the Aberdeen and Inverness Trains ran separately from each other and could load to 17 vehicles! This was outside the scope of a single 47/4 with an ETH index of 66 and you can't couple two together to get 132! Pairs of 37's along with Generator Cars had been used since the mid 80's, but these were getting increasingly unreliable so along came the 47/6 with an ETH index of 95.
During the day in the summer these were used on a pair of daily Inverness- Edinburgh rtn and vica-versa diagrams. Here 47675 arrives at Perth with the midday northbound train on 26th August 1992
