Known as the father of American landscape architecture, Olmsted designed the landscape at New York City's Central Park, U.S. Capitol grounds, Biltmore Estate, Louisville's system of public parks, and others.

Olmsted is surveying his surroundings — the North Carolina Arboretum, Pisgah National Forest and Appalachia.

This is a statue of Olmsted at the North Carolina Arboretum. I see there are a couple of flies warming themselves on top of his head.
