Wildflower growing in the vacant lot across the street from our house.
The "Bane" in its name is common with plants and means "deadly" or "poison". so perhaps poisonous to fleas? There does not appear to be any evidence to support that.

The name Erigeron apparently comes from two Greek words meaning "spring" and "old man".

It is known to have a very long blooming season and is actually quite attractive, but because it is considered a weed, it is not much seen in gardens.
